As a former pupil of Adi Geda Elementary School /
መባእታ ቤት ትምህርቲ ዓዲገዳ, I recently received 2 letters - one addressed personally to me, and the other to residents and former residents of the villages of Adi Gered and Adi Geda, that use the school. ( Copies of the letters in Tigrigna are here). The letters show that the school - one of the oldest-established in Eritrea, dating from the late 1940s, needs financial support to buy everything - from basic facilities like desks and chairs for pupils and teachers as well as more modern teaching facilities such as tv and computing equipment.
The school receives about 100 new pupils, every year. Some have to attend lessons sitting on the floor because of lack of desks and chairs. Modern facilities such as tv and computers, that we take for granted, are simply out of their reach - as you can see in the excellent photographs, attached.
